Emergency Consultant Fund
The Emergency Consultant Fund will be established in order to continue a home based Applied Behavior Analysis program for a child for a 3 month period while the child waits for placement in the Medicaid Pervasive Development Disorder waiver, private insurance approval of their program or for their school based program to begin.
The child's consultant would apply on behalf of the child and the parents must prove they have taken the necessary steps for the child to move into a permanent therapy situation. The applying consultant will provide service to the child for an additional quarter and charge the Foundation the current BabyNet reimbursement rate. The consultant would lay out reasonable goals for the child to achieve over a 3 month period. Each individual family would be able to access the fund up to three times in 5 years. The goal is to provide continuity of care for children involved in an intensive program. Children, especially very early learners, risk rapid regression if left untreated for a period of time, some as little as a week.
Winston's Wish Foundation recognizes the extreme financial pressures placed on families of children with autism. We are very pleased to be able to provide this direct financial assistance. We anticipate offering this program by year's end.
